Patricia ‘Trish’ Dorene (Eby) Ragan
Patricia ‘Trish’ Dorene (Eby) Ragan, 89, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at the home of her daughter in Albuquerque, N.M., at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014.
She was born in Warsaw, Ind., on Sept. 21, 1924, to Otto W. and Jessie Jayne (Brown) Eby. On March 13, 1946, in Warsaw, she married Phil Roger Ragan who preceded her in death.
Trish lived in Warsaw until 1938 when her father was appointed superintendent of the United Telephone district office in Denver, Ind. She lived in Denver until returning to Warsaw in 1945. She graduated from Mexico, Ind., High School in 1943. She was a telephone operator in the late 40’s and early 50’s and later became office manager at the Firestone Tire and Appliance Store in downtown Warsaw. In 1960, Phil accepted a sales position with Mountain Bell Telephone Company and the family relocated to Albuquerque. After retirement Trish spent many months a year in Florida and Indiana. As recently as 2 weeks ago she was still planning her 3-6 month Warsaw time. A cheerleader in high school, she continued to be very athletic for many years. She loved bowling and golf. However, she enjoyed card games, and bridge was her favorite. She was very talented and creative as a seamstress and at making crafts, and she loved to make gifts for family and friends.
Surviving are a son: Michael L. ‘Mike’ (DeAnna K. Rule) Ragan, Warsaw; a daughter: Sharon L. ‘Sherry’ Ragan Gregg; two granddaughters: Dione A. (Gregg) McCandlish, Albuquerque; Theresa L. (Gregg) Satterfield; two great-granddaughters: Krystal and Kyra Satterfield, both of Moriarity, N.M.; four sisters-in-law: Mollie (Eby) Allman, Kokomo, Ind.; Helen Eby, Columbia City, Ind.; Nancy O. (Ragan) Parks, Mount Vernon, Ind.; Alma Ragan, Sacramento, Calif.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son: Daniel Brian Ragan; a grandson: Troy L Ragan; two brothers: Otto Junior Eby; and Eugene Edward Eby; two sisterwho died as infants; and a son-in-law: Jerry E. Gregg.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 22, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 23, in the funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
