Cake Lady Named Business Of The Month
The Cake Lady Creations and Cuisine has been named business of the month for the month of June. This distinction was awarded by the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce.
The Cake Lady was started four years ago by owner/operator Peggy Roulo. From humble beginnings in her home, this cake and catering business has grown rapidly, and is now located at 301 N. Main St. in the North Webster Community Center (previously an elementary school building). The Cake Lady has served customers across the northern Indiana region, reaching as far as Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
Roulo and her team offer a wide selection of gourmet cakes for all preferences and palates, as well as cupcakes and other delicious desserts. She also serves up an extensive catering menu, making her perfect for every type of event. From a birthday party to a cozy meal for five to a wedding reception for five hundred, The Cake Lady of North Webster adds class and charm to every celebration.
“Something that makes The Cake Lady distinct,” commented Roulo, “is my commitment to using high quality ingredients and not taking short-cuts. We put a lot of care and attention to detail into our work. It’s important to me that my cakes and main courses both look beautiful and taste delicious. I strive for excellence and elegance in every dish.”
In addition to her solid work ethic, Peggy and her business are conscientious members of the community, sponsoring various fund raising events and organizing a yearly pastor’s appreciation banquet. She recycles, saves cooking scrap for composting projects, and buys locally when possible.
As Roulo looks to the future she has many ideas for improvement and expansion. She is continually adding to her catering repertoire, and is currently experimenting with a new line of cakes. The Cake Lady’s mouth-watering creations, impressive innovation, and conscientious commitment to quality are just a few of the reasons she stands out as June’s small business of the month.
