A.C.T.S. Hosting 5K/10K/1 Mile Run
Allowing Christ to Shine is hosting a 5K/10K/1-mile run event this summer and would like many school children to participate. Children are active during the school year in P.E. classes or school sports, and we want them to continue to be active during the summer break. The event will also help to feed and educate children in Haiti.
A.C.T.S. is dedicated to help the poor and needy in Haiti and in our local community. The organization is proud to partner with the Austin McCleary Foundation to help purchase bibles for others around the globe.
The A.C.T.S. event will be held on Saturday, June 21, at the Cancer Care Center near Kosciusko Community Hospital. Participants can register for one of three events: 5K Run or Walk (3.1 miles), 10K Run (6.2 miles), or a 1-mile run.
Cost for the 5K or 10K before June 14 is $15 and includes a race T-shirt. The 1-mile run is free, but participants may register for any of the events. The mile run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K/10K begin at 9 a.m. Race day registration is from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. T-shirts can be purchased for the 1-mile run for $7.
Each child, 11 and under, for any event (pre-registered by June 14), will receive an award for participating. The school with the most participants will receive a monetary gift to purchase P.E. equipment for their school. Please help encourage physical activity for the summer and register for this event.
