Petition For Landscaper Approved With Conditions
Among the petitions considered by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting today in Warsaw was one by Ruth Buell.
Buell petitioned the BZA to allow a residence accessory tract to be sold separately from a residence and to allow an existing structure to be used for a commercial landscaping business. The property is located on Epworth Forest Road, east of 6th Trail in Tippecanoe Township.
Buell was granted approval by the BZA with the conditions there is no outside storage, no signage, a county driveway permit is obtained, there are no junk piles and the property is kept in good condition.
Other agenda items included:
• Dustin Catanzarite’s petition to allow a carport to remain in the road right of way on EMS W30B Lane in Tippecanoe Township was denied. He was not present for two months in a row to present any information.
• Jill Cook was granted a variance to allow a residence addition that will connect two existing residences into one single family residence on EMS B53 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Steven Kelly’s petition was continued until the July meeting to allow him to work out an agreement with an adjacent property owner. Kelly is asking for a previously granted variance for a residence to be modified to allow relief from a negative easement on Sleeping Beauty Lane in Turkey Creek Township.
• Bret Granger’s petition for an exception to enclose an open deck on a mobile home was also continued until the July meeting. The board wants to view the property in person on Fourth Street, east of Main Street in North Webster.
• Laverne Schwartz was granted an exception to allow a home based business, in this case metal fabricating and retail store hardware, on CR 1000N, east of SR 19 in Scott Township.
• David Snyder was granted an exception to construct a residence accessory building in a commercial district on CR 300E, south of EMS D24C Lane in Van Buren Township.
• James Fryback was granted an exception to alter a previously granted oversized accessory building by allowing the construction of a covered porch. The property is on Sullivan Road, south of EMS B43 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• J Baker Trucking was granted an exception for allowing motorized vehicle service, storage, repair and a truck terminal in an industrial two district on Mill Street at the intersection with Market Street in Pierceton. As a condition for the approval, a detailed site plan must be submitted to include parking arrangements and more.
• Kelly Estes was granted a variance to raise a residence and repair a foundation in a flood plain on EMS B57 Lane, south of Barbee Road in Tippecanoe Township.
