Triton Prepping For Softball Semi-state
BOURBON – Triton’s historic run in softball this season has plans formulating for another chance at glory.
The Lady Trojans, which beat South Central (Union Mills) 4-0 Tuesday night, will play in the Clinton Prairie Class 1-A Semi-state Saturday against top-ranked North Miami. Triton, which is 23-6 this season, has set the single-season record for wins, regional champions for the first time, and is in the semi-state for the first time in program history.
Triton will play North Miami at approximately 1 p.m. at Clinton Prairie High School, which is just west of Frankfort, or about 20 miles south of Lafayette. Should Triton win the afternoon game, the championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday evening against either Tri-Central or Carroll (Flora).
Tickets for the first game are $6 each or $9 per person for a full session. Tickets are only for sale at the gate.
Triton High School is also selling gold T-shirts commemorating the regional championship. Youth small through adult extra-large are $10, anything larger is $11. T-shirt payments must be made at the high school by June 9.
