SYRACUSE – A couple of Super Bowl MVPs, superstars and a whole bunch of excitement will accompany the third annual Sleepy Owl Golf Outing and Fundraiser.
The event will kick off Friday night, June 13, at 6 p.m. with a pre-party dinner and live auction at the Syracuse Community Center. Entertainment for the event will include the comedy of nationally acclaimed Dave Dugan, who has performed on the Arsenio Hall Show and has been featured on programming on VH-1, Comedy Central and HBO. The musical act Dueling Pianos are also set to perform.
If that weren’t enough, there will be a buzz for some of the items up for auction. Autographed memorabilia from NFL stars Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Andrew Luck as well as Indiana Pacer Paul George highlight the list. Polywood lounge chairs, a week’s stay at a home on Lake Wawasee, as well as the potential for an autographed Aerosmith guitar will be sure to have the auctioneer busy with bids.
Cost for Friday’s event is $30 per person, which includes dinner and entertainment.
The golf portion of the fundraiser will take place Saturday morning, June 14, an 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Cost is $300 per a team of four, which includes greens fees and a cart for 18 holes at Maxwelton Golf Club. The entry fee includes admission and dinner to Friday night’s activities at the SCC. Golf will feature several hole contests and prizes from local merchants, including the chance of winning a Jeep from Autoplex on a hole-in-one contest.
Major sponsors for the fundraiser include Polywood, Car Company, Buyrite, Rosales, Midwest POS and Autoplex.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to over a half-dozen charities benefitting children in the greater Syracuse area.
“We appreciate the great support in the past, and look forward to a great event this year,” said Chip Erwin, of the Sleepy Owl team putting together the event. “This is a fun thing, and it’s great to be able to give back to the kids in our community.”
