Pierceton Woman Competes For Miss America
Shana Patel of Pierceton will be competing for the title of Miss Indiana beginning June 15 in Zionsville. Three nights of preliminary competition for the titles of Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen 2014 will culminate in the final competition June 21.
Fans, friends and family can help assure their favorite contestant secures a spot in the final competition by voting for her to be the Indy Laser people’s choice finalist at www.missindiana.org. Only the top 10 contestants in Miss and Teen, plus the people’s choice winners will compete for the titles on finals night. Each vote costs $1, which benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, as well as the Miss Indiana scholarship fund.
Patel, 21, is Miss IPFW (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne), where she studies nursing. Her platform is “Be Your Own Advocate: Prioritizing Women’s Health,” her talent is Garba dance and she is a graduate of Whitko High School.
