MARION – The Whitko boys track team concluded its season with several athletes competing Thursday night in the Marion Regional.

The 4 X 100 relay team turned in the top finish of the night for the Wildcats by placing seventh.

The quartet of Will Bumbaugh, Garrett Elder, Brady Herendeen and Gavin Powell clocked in at 44.81 in the relay.

Herendeen also placed 11th in the long jump competition with a best effort of 19-8 1/2.

Walker Hobbs was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 45-10 3/4 for the Wildcats. Gavin Howard placed 13th in the discus with a throw of 130-1.

Alex Morales was 12th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.80.

The top three finishers in each event advance to the State Finals on June 7 at Indiana University in Bloomington.
