Thursday, May 29, 1:06 p.m. North 1000 West and West 1050 North, Nappanee. Driver: Travis A. Mast, 19, North 1000 West, Nappanee. Mast said he fell asleep while driving and struck a utility pole. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Friday, May 30, 5:01 a.m. South County Farm Road and Park Ridge Drive. Driver: Marie Brito-Gonzalez, 26, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000
Thursday, May 29, 4:26 p.m. East Winona Avenue and South Indiana Street. Drivers: Dustin A. McClone, 37, South Kinsey Road, Claypool; and Steven R. Warner, 18, South Valentine Road, Claypool. McClone said he was southbound on Indiana Street, stopped at the stop sign, but failed to see Warner’s vehicle approaching from the east and pulled into its path. Damages: up to $10,000
Thursday, May 29, 3:38 p.m. South Buffalo Street near Fisher Avenue. Drivers: Kathryn M. Stemen, 29, North Parks Schram Road, Warsaw; and Jeremy K. Marvel, 28, Cambridge Drive, Warsaw. Stemen failed to notice Marvel was stopped, waiting to make a left turn and collided with the rear of the vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000
Thursday, May 29, 2:41 p.m. Indiana and Center streets. Bicyclist: Craig Best, 17, Hartzler Street, Warsaw; and Driver: Harla D. Sparks, 61, South Grant Street, Warsaw. Sparks was turning from Indiana Street onto Center Street when Best rode into her path. Best was illegally riding on the sidewalk and disregarded the pedestrian signal. He sustained minor bleeding to his elbow but his mother refused EMS services. Damages: up to $1,000
