Nappanee Public Library Announcements
CRAFTING HOPE GROUP
Crafting Hope will meet on Thursday, June 12, to make simple stuffed animals for children in foster care. The crafting night is open to the public and will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Nappanee Public Library. Participants can choose to either sew a monster or knit a kitten with help from instructors. The “stuffies” will then be distributed by “Hopeful Threads,” a non-profit organization in Knoxville, Tenn.
If you are interested in joining in the efforts and would like to know what to bring along, go to the Nappanee Public Library website at www.nappaneelibrary.org and click on the events calendar, search the library on Facebook, or call Lindsay, at 574-773-7919.
Crafting Hope meets quarterly to sew simple projects for local and global organizations. Since 2011, the group has donated hundreds of clothing items, toys, bibs, blankets and more to people around the world and across the street.

New cardholders and those interested in learning more about the Library are invited to a guided tour of the Nappanee Public Library 7 p.m. Monday, June 16.
In addition to discovering where to find current bestsellers, a favorite cookbook, or the daily news, participants will be introduced to many special services. These include the Library’s online catalog, computers and copiers for use in the library; framed original art, CD’s, DVD’s and many other materials for loan.
The library, located at 157 North Main Street, holds the tour the third Monday of every month and by appointment.

BOOK CLUB
Read along with the Cover to Cover Book Club at the Nappanee Public Library. The club will meet on from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, to discuss Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain.
Passionately argued, impressively researched, and filled with indelible stories of real people, Quiet shows how dramatically we undervalue introverts, and how much we lose in doing so.
For more information or to reserve a copy of the book, call 574-773-7919, or go to www.nappaneelibrary.org. The Cover to Cover Book Club meets at the library on the third Tuesday of each month.
