A special tasting was held today of the final four burgers featured in the Kosciusko County Burger Wars. Five community judges were asked to sample the final four to choose their favorites from two burger brackets.
The B-Mac Burger, from B-Mac’s on Buffalo in Warsaw, was named the victor against The Hoe Burger, from the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. The Outrigger, from Channel Marker in Syracuse won out against The Balsamic Goat Cheese Burger from Rozella Ford of Warsaw.
Judges included Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer, Syracuse Police Chief Tony Ciriello, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Executive Director Suzie Light, Assistant Superintendent of Warsaw Community School Corporation David Hoffert and KCCF Development Director Brenda Rigdon.
The four finalist were narrowed down from 23 competitors. Though the burgers were voted on by community leaders, the official decision on which burger is best is made up entirely by public votes.
According to the Visitors Center, the winner of the Kosciusko County Burger Wars will compete against the best burger from Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart and LaGrange counties for the ultimate title of Best Burger in Northern Indiana. Burger Wars contests are currently underway in those counties.
