Co-Op Preschool Celebrates Milestone
Greater Warsaw Cooperative Preschool hit a special milestone at the close of the 2013-2014 school year. Current and past alumni students and families celebrated the career and contributions of Lisa Sabones as she retired at the end of May.
Mrs. Sabones began teaching at the Co-Op Preschool in 1999 with teacher Judy Case. In 2000, Mrs. Sabones taught all of the classes and did so until the end of 2013.
In January of 2014, the Co-Op hired Brooke Elliott as the 3-year old teacher while Mrs. Sabones taught both of the 4-year old classes. Mrs. Elliott worked with Mrs. Sabones to learn the traditions, quality and value that the Co-Op has become known for.
Mrs. Sabones leaves behind a 15 year legacy as a beloved and special teacher to students and a wonderful friend to many parents. She has taught hundreds of children in Kosciusko County, often times including many siblings from the same families. At the retirement party, Mrs. Sabones was presented with a book of memories encompassing Father’s Nights, Thanksgiving Feasts and Mother’s Teas.
Next, year, Mrs. Elliott will teach the 3-year old class and both morning and afternoon 4-year old classes. Founding member Jean Reed also was present at the celebration. For information about Greater Warsaw Cooperative Preschool call 574-267-7300.
