New Prairie Dogs Triton
New Prairie pounded the ball and put together a complete game in beating Triton, 9-1, in baseball action in Bourbon Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars ripped 15 hits and had three players collect three hits apiece. Cody Rose was 3-for-3 with two doubles while Bobby Bushman belted a homer and drove in three. Noah Shail added three hits and two stolen bases.
Cole Creighbaum came around to score Triton’s only run in the third inning.
Starter Justin Cromey was sharp, allowing four hits and one walk with one strikeout in four innings for the Cougars. Reliever Grant Williamson was almost flawless, allowing just one walk in three innings of work.
Skyler Reichert was touched up for 14 hits and nine earned runs in 5.1 innings of work for Triton, which fall to 8-14 overall and conclude at 6-8 in the Northern State Conference.
