Concord Clips Tigers
WARSAW – The Concord baseball team made the most of its hits Monday.
The Minutemen had just four hits in defeating host Warsaw 5-3 in Northern Lakes Conference action.
Concord, which had lost 7-1 to Warsaw at home back on May 2, scored once in the first and fifth innings and three times in the third.
Winning pitcher Brenden Curry went the distance on the hill for the Minutemen and struck out 10. He also had a home run and drove in three runs for the winners.
Warsaw, which outhit Concord 7-4, got a double from Caleb Moneyheffer and Brandon Shipp in the loss.
Tyler LaFollette took the pitching loss for Warsaw. He went the first five innings for the Tigers.
Warsaw drops to 9-13 overall and 6-7 in the NLC. The Tigers play host to NLC foe Elkhart Memorial Thursday.
The Warsaw junior varsity team edged Concord 5-4.
Kenton Cornell collected the pitching win for the JV Tigers. Josh Fitzgerald had a double for Warsaw.
The Warsaw JV, now 13-11 overall and 6-6 in the NLC, also hosts Elkhart Memorial Thursday.
