Darrell E. Hively
Darrell E. Hively, 71, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on April 28, 1943, in Warsaw, Ind., to Eva (Schumaker) Hively and Lestor Hively. On March 16, 1985 he was married to Dolores J. (Uphouse) Hively, who survives in Winona Lake.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., where he was a attended of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and Grace Village Chapel. He worked for Zimmer, Inc. and DePuy both of Warsaw, and a truck driver retiring in 2012. Darrell loved to golf, bowl and travel.
He is survived by four daughters: Sharisa Hively, Warsaw; Cynthia L. (Denny) Hepler, Warsaw; Colleen E. (Jeff) Shelhart, Hickory, N.C.; Donna M. (Mike) Dennie, Bourbon, Ind.; two sons: R. Dale (Karin) Ogden, Jr., Indianapolis, Ind.; Douglas Alan Ogden, Warsaw; 18 grandchildren: Nicole, Kane, Marie, Karalee, Nate, Christy, Max, Hillary, Tyler, Tristin, Mallory, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Alex, Clint, Chad, Scott and Brad; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 19, following the visitation at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Chaplain Bryon Benjamin. A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa., and officiated by Pastor Richard Horner.
