Strong Start Leads To Warsaw Win
PLYMOUTH – A big first inning carried the Warsaw softball team to a conference win at Plymouth Monday evening.
The Tigers tallied five runs in the opening frame en route to a 6-4 win in Northern Lakes Conference play.
Warsaw, which bounced back from an NLC loss at Goshen Friday, improves to 6-11 overall and goes to 5-5 in league action.
Senior Kaleigh Speicher notched the pitching win. She went five innings, allowing no earned runs while striking our six and walking four.
Whitney Sleeth went the final two innings in the circle for the Tigers.
Alexa Glass led the offense for Warsaw with two hits, including a double, and two RBI.
Karly Jones had a double and an RBI and Ashley Ousley had a hit and an RBI. Kara Dishman scored two runs for the Tigers.
Warsaw hosts Andrean today and then hosts NLC foes NorthWood on Wednesday and Northridge on Friday.
