Redevelopment Approves Funding For Ditch Maintenance
At its monthly meeting Monday, Milford Redevelopment Commission pre-approved up to $25,000 in funding to clean and retrench ditches on the east side of Old SR 15, extending from Syracuse Street north past PigTek to the commercial building currently occupied by Biomet. The maintenance continues along the south side of that building’s parking lot and extending to the retention pond on east side of the structure.
Bids on the project currently are being accepted by the town. However, the commission did not want to delay the commencement of the work once a bid was accepted. Should the accepted bid for the work be less than $25,000, the bid amount is approved in advance and the project can begin immediately. If the approved bid is higher than that amount, the commission agreed the work could begin and the additional funding would be considered and likely authorized.
Because Phend and Brown has placed a bid for the contract, commission president Dan Brown abstained from debate on the matter.
The commission also scheduled a date for a state mandated annual budget development workshop. The commission will meet in special session at 7 p.m. June 3 to establish a budget that will be presented to the Milford Town Council for approval.
The next regular meeting of the Milford Redevelopment Commission will be at 10 a.m. June 9.
