Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, May 11, 10:56 p.m. EMS B61 Lane near EMS B61C Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Andrew L. Gottschalk, 23, EMS B611 Lane, Warsaw. Gottschalk’s vehicle left the edge of the roadway, struck a mailbox, hit a utility pole and continued through a yard. The vehicle struck a retaining wall and overturned. Gottschalk was taken to Parkview Hospital for treatment of injuries. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the accident. Damages: up to $25,000
Sunday, May 11, 7:03 p.m. Old 15 near West 600 North, Leesburg. Drivers: Heather J. Copen, 32, Blessing Street, Millersberg; and Victor A. Montes, 24, Dove Lane, Milford. Copen pulled into an intersection and collided with Montes. Damages: up to $25,000
Sunday, May 11, 11:36 a.m. 100 block of Higbee Street, Warsaw. Driver: Cristobal R. Ocon, 20, Dove Lane, Milford. Ocon backed into a parked car. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, May 10, 3:47 p.m. SR 13 near North 800 East, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin J. Harris, 36, SR 13, Pierceton; and Matthew C. Frazier, 29, Hillside Drive, Syracuse. Harris was transporting a mattress in the bed of his truck. He noticed it had come untied, but before he could pull over and retie it, the mattress blew out and struck Frazier’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, May 10, 5:48 a.m. South 900 West near West 200 South, Mentone. Driver: Brandon M. Ewing, 20, SR 19, Akron. Ewing fell asleep at the wheel causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Ewing’s juvenile son was transported to KCH, but no injuries were found. Damages: up to $25,000
Friday, May 9, 6:26 a.m. SR 13 near South Barbee Drive, Pierceton. Driver: Joshua C. Doody, 22, North 600 East, Rochester. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Milford Police Department
Officers of the Milford Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Saturday, May 10, 7:21 p.m. Old SR 15 near Mock Road, Milford. Driver: Leo Cuaiso, 34, North 150 East, Warsaw. Cuaiso lost control of his vehicle, spun out and struck an embankment. Driver never licensed. Damages: up to $2,500

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, May 11, 3:33 p.m. Market Street near Wood Street, Warsaw. Driver: Tonya R. Wallace, 39, Clark Street, Warsaw. Wallace struck a parked car registered to James Jones of Warsaw. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, May 11, 12:15 p.m. SR 15 near West 350 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert E. Slabach, 65, Park Central Drive, Indianapolis; Alison R. Boyer, 26, East Street, Milford; David L. Salisbury, 57, Inwood Circle, Syracuse; and DJ F. Haring, 49, Cedar Ridge Trail, Nappanee. Slabach rear-ended Boyer, causing Boyer to strike Salisbury and Salisbury to strike Haring. Damages: up to $25,000
Saturday, May 10, 4:12 p.m. Detroit Street near Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: JR R. Hoagland, 75, Ferguson Road, Warsaw; and Nicholas W. Hatfield, 20, Trails North Drive, Fort Wayne. Hoagland rear-ended Hatfield. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, May 9, 10:49 a.m. Lake City Highway near Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: James S. Cameron, 81, Lake Street, Syracuse; and Robert L. Robinson, 69, South 950 West, North Manchester. Cameron rear-ended Robinson. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, May 9, 8:41 a.m. 1500 block of Provident Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Ruth E. Callaway, 37, CR 27, New Paris; and Stephanie R. Wilson, 43, US 30, Warsaw. Callaway backed into Wilson. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, May 9, 7:14 a.m. Detroit Street near Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Bryce E. Fisher, 22, South 1275 East, Akron; and Jayden Parrett-Konkle, 17, EMS C24 Lane, Warsaw. Fisher rear-ended Parrett-Konkle. Damages: up to $5,000
