Ronald E. Watson
Ronald E. Watson of Sidney, Ind., passed away at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Ronald H. and Thelma (White) Watson. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a PFC, 8th Infantry from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. On Dec. 29, 1956, in Columbia City, Ind., he was united in marriage to Mary Albertson.
He was a Sidney, Ind., resident since 1966. He retired from the Maintenance Department of North Manchester Foundry in 1999 after 22 years of service. He was a member of the North Webster American Legion Post #253.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Robert (Kimberly) Watson, Claypool, Ind.; DeWayne (Julie) Watson, Sidney; a brother: William Watson, Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen Sanburn; and a son: Larry Watson.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, Ind. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the funeral chapel conducted by Pastor William Whitaker. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with Military Honors presented by North Webster American Legion Post #253.
