Fundraiser For Accident Victims Established
An April 15 single car crash in Warsaw has left one man in a coma and still fighting for his life.
Michael S. Thomas, 29, was operating his sports car at a high rate of speed when he lost control and endured a horrific crash. Thomas nearly died at the scene, but with the quick response of first responders and medics of Multi-Township EMS, he was stabilized and flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center where he has been in a coma ever since. Thomas’ family is making daily trips to and from Fort Wayne, and are enduring a lot of expenses related to their visits. A passenger in the car, Joe Haupert, sustained a concussion and, according to his girlfriend, Andrea Chupp, is doing “very well.” Thomas is breathing on his own, but his family and friends are still praying for a recovery.
Chupp has set up a fundraiser to assist the families with their expenses. “I’ve raised $115 so far, but that doesn’t begin to cover the expenses,” she said.
