Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, April 3, 8:10 a.m. South SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Mason A. Hauff, 16, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake; and Jeffery A. McGuire, 40, Country Club Drive South, Warsaw. Hauff was traveling northbound on SR 15 when, due to difficulty seeing because of rain, he rear-ended McGuire’s vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000
Wednesday, April 2, 8:21 p.m. West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Athena L. Stenstrom, 30, South Bourbon Street, Bourbon. Stenstrom was traveling eastbound on West Old Road 30 when she struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, April 2, 4:46 p.m. South Detroit Street and East Winona Avenue. Drivers: Peggy L. Bailey, 43, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw; and Mary L. Alley, 47, East Tulip Street, Pierceton. Bailey was northbound on Detroit Street when she rear-ended Alley. Bailey admitted fault in the accident and that she was not paying attention when the accident happened. Damages: up to $2,500
Wednesday, April 2, 12:40 p.m. Lake City Highway. Drivers: Richard A. Day, 65, South Yorick, Denver, Ind.; Michael R. Thomas, 48, North Fort Wayne Ave., Warsaw; and Serria R. Boyer, 26, Chestnut Road, Tippecanoe. Day, Yorick and Thomas were all traveling eastbound on U.S. 30. Both Thomas and Boyer began to slow for a red light when Day, who was traveling behind the two cars, attempted to switch lanes to the right. Day struck the rear of Thomas’s vehicle then went into the right lane and swerved back into the left lane in front of Thomas’s vehicle, striking it again in the front. Day then rear-ended Boyer’s vehicle before stopping. All parties involved declined medical treatment, however, Thomas complained of pain in his left shoulder and Boyer stated she had pain in her lower back. Both Boyer and Thomas stated they would seek medical attention after they left the scene. Damages: up to $25,000
