Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, March 30, 1:14 p.m. East Koher Road South near North Koher Road East, Warsaw. Driver: Tresia K. Rockenbaugh, 38, SR 13, Millersburg. Rockenbaugh swerved to miss a pedestrian in the road and rand off the roadway. Officers were unable to locate any pedestrians in the area. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, March 30, 12:00 a.m. SR 13 near East 1000 North, Syracuse. Driver: Rachel M. Krinn 27, EMS B60B Lane, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $1,000
Saturday, March 29, 9:37 p.m. North 150 East near East 300 North, Warsaw. Driver: Gilberto Nava, 43, Old Road 30, Warsaw. Nava ran off the road and struck a newspaper box and post. The collision tore the post out of the ground, and Nava proceeded down the road dragging the post under his car. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the incident. Damages: up to $1,000
Saturday, March 29, 10:43 a.m. South 700 East near East 650 South, Warsaw. Driver: Devin J. Sims, 18, South 700 East, Pierceton. Sims lost control of his vehicle and drove off the roadway and rolled the vehicle. Sims refused medical attention at the scene. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, March 29, 10:19 a.m. Packerton Road, near East 700 South, Claypool. Driver: Len E. Prater, 45, Market Street, North Manchester. Prater lost control of his vehicle on snow and slush and slid off the road into a ditch. Prater complained of chest pain and was treated by EMS. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, March 29, 4:57 a.m. US 30 near North 800 West, Etna Green. Driver: Aaron C. Long, 24, Walnut Street, Etna Green. Long ran off the road and struck a guard rail. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 28, 4:19 p.m. SR 14 near South 700 West, Silver Lake. Driver: Robert D. Dawson, 46, Rochester Street, Akron. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $1,000
Friday, March 28, 2:58 p.m. SR 13 near Nash Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Lindsey N. Rogers, 19, Lake Chapin Road, Berrien Springs, Mich. Rogers dropped her phone and reached for it. In doing so, she veered off the road and struck a mailbox and sign post. Damages: up to $2,500
North Webster Police Department
Officers of the North Webster Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, March 29, 4:47 p.m. 8000 block of Backwater Road, North Webster. Drivers: Elaine J. Burkitt, 59, SR 5, Cromwell; and John M. Miretti, 30, Backwater Road, North Webster. Burkitt backed into Miretti’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, March 28, 4:03 p.m. SR 13 near Crystal Flash Road, North Webster. Drivers: John C. Glor, 27, North 650 East, Warsaw; and James A. Maxwell, 54, Division Street, Goshen. Glor rear-ended Maxwell. Damages: up to $2,500

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, March 31, 4:07 a.m. Lake City Highway near Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Bryan E. Wolfe, 38, Fish Hatchery Road, Columbia City. Wolfe was unable to avoid a collision with a large tree branch in his lane of travel. Damages: up to $1,000
Sunday, March 30, 3:17 p.m. Fort Wayne Street near Park Avenue, Warsaw. Sandra F. Huff, 60, South 500 East, Pierceton; and Jeffrey J. Logsdon, 18, Tamarack Street Warsaw. Huff proceeded into the intersection and collided with Logsdon. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, March 29, 1:56 p.m. Market Street near Hickory Street, Warsaw, Driver: Kelsie E. Music, 20, East 400 North, Warsaw. Music was distracted by a baby crying in her back seat and drove into the path of a southbound train. Driver and three passengers treated by EMS at the scene. Alissa Music, 10, was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for broken leg. Damages: up to $25,000
Friday, March 28, 3:58 p.m. Winona Avenue near Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dezirae M. Dobbs, 19, Clinic Street, Warsaw; Matthew A. Flenar, 29, Liberty Road, Rochester; and Krystal B. West, 21, South 750 East, Pierceton. Dobbs pulled into the intersection and collided with Flenar. The impact from the collision caused Flenar’s vehicle to slide into West’s vehicle. Flenar complained of leg pain at the scene, but refused EMS. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, March 28, 3:55 p.m. Detroit Street near Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Todd S. Biller, 47, North 400 West, Milford; Jordan T. Hansen, 18, Warren Drive, Warsaw; and Kimberly D. Graff, 32, North Street, Milford. Biller was unable to come to a complete stop at a red light and rear-ended Hansen’s vehicle, causing it to collide with Graff’s vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000
