Syracuse Public Library Announcements
New Time for a Learning Playtime
Babies and children can come to a learning playtime at the Syracuse Library at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2. Parents as Teachers will bring activities and ideas on Wednesday morning. The Dekko Foundation is sponsoring this program to encourage early literacy activities that have been shown to influence reading abilities.
Spring is in the Air
Story times continue through the month of April. Everyone at the library is glad to see the arrival of spring. Preschool age children are welcome to come join weekly celebrations at 10:30 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
Teens Meet Twice
The Young Adult New-book Club will be doing a group painting for the summer reading mural on Tuesday, April 1. Young people should wear clothes that are okay to have a little paint damage, even though the library has painting smocks. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the meeting room and some really good treats will be provided, if one likes worms and damaged cake.
A Series of Unfortunate Events will be discussed later in the month so teens might want to review the first three books by Lemony Snickett. Remember to examine the characters for their details and be prepared to express their point of view. Possibly, more worms and cake will be served! Unfortunately, we can’t always know what is coming next.
