On The Edge: Romantic Movies
Article by Skyler Lampkin, On The Edge Student Reporter, Edgewood Middle School
Are romantic movies the best movies ever made? Most females will say yes. On the other hand, some females will say no. Hey, some males might even agree with me!
Either way, romantic movies are very popular. But it’s not just the movies that are popular. There are romantic books that can keep people on the edge of their seats. Surprising, right? I’d have to disagree on that one. Books make great movies.
Nicholas Sparks could easily be the best romantic book writer ever. Eight of his books have been made into movies. Sparks is a guy! Girls aren’t the only people that can do something romantic. What do you think Valentines Day is for? It’s for the men who never buy their lady anything on any other day. Sparks is like that, but he gives his wife romantic movies instead of flowers and chocolates.
Safe Haven is an example of a romantic book that is now a movie. Safe Haven is only one of the many books by Sparks. Let me tell you, that is a pretty famous movie. Eight of Sparks’ books have been made into movies. This includes: The Notebook, The Last Song, Dear John, Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe and Safe Haven.
Nicholas Sparks highest grossing movie made over 80 million dollars when it was in theaters. I think the box office is telling you guys something. Get your lady, and take her to a romantic movie this weekend. I promise you that she will love it. Anyways, you owe her, right?
