Clara Gladys Bennett
Clara Gladys Bennett, 65, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., to Lois Marie (Timm) Marquardt and David Omar Marquardt. She was a 1967 graduate of Wanatah High School in Wanatah, Ind. On July 4, 1969, she was married to Larry James Bennett, who survives in Warsaw.
She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and best friend. Clara worked in the shipping department for Zimmer, Inc. of Warsaw and retiring in 2011 after 35 years of service. She made many great friends, and loved her job.
She loved to collect dogs, doing genealogy, and working in her garden for the past 50 years. She very much enjoyed going to car shows, swap meets, flea markets and auctions, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her son: Fender (Angie) Bennett, Warsaw; two granddaughters: Haliee and Dayna Bennett, Warsaw; two sisters: Darlene Marquardt, Allegan, Mich.; Glenna (Jake) Rinkenberger, Congerville, Ill.; and her brother: David (Terri) Marquardt, Jr., Knox, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home of Warsaw and will be officiated by Bruce Bennett. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Clara’s name may be directed to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 3489 E. 100 S., Pierceton, IN 46562 and would be appreciated by her family.
