Milford Gains New Tax Preparer
Phoenix Bookkeeping & Tax Service has taken over a well known name in Milford.
Opened since September 2009 in Goshen, it was not long until owner Matt Kitson expanded into Milford where, in January 2013, he took over the former B&B Tax and Accounting business originally owned by Bill Little. Kitson actually took over the business from Bill Rondeau, who was partner’s with Little until Little’s death in 2010.
Kitson, a native to the northern Kosciusko County area, has been preparing taxes since 1999. A graduate of Manchester College (now Manchester University), Kitson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and became involved in the Milford community.
“Bill was very involved in the community and different community organizations,” Kitson said. “I want Milford to be a full-time office, open year-round, and maintain the personal service that he was so well known for.”
“We have clients that range from the small mom and pop business to multi-million dollar businesses. We can do payroll, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, monthly reports, analysis, QuickBooks training and help, individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns, and many other functions to help business owners more effectively run their business,” said Kitson. “We want to be a partner with our clients, helping them make important decisions rather than waiting until the year is over. Our goal is to build a client base that is around for many years. We want to build that trust among our clients.”
And just as those in a small community like Milford would expect, Kitson wants to be a well-known figure in town and give the same time and trust that so many came to know through Bill Little. “We will not file a return that we don’t support!” Kitson assured.
Phoenix Bookkeeping and Tax Service is located at 105 W. Emeline St. in Milford, and also at 721 E. Madison St., Goshen. The staff includes Kitson, Jade Vira and, for Spanish speaking clients, tax preparer Maricela Melendez.
