WCS Orchestra Students Receive Gold Ratings
Under the direction of Ms. Carolyn Stalcup, WCS students received exemplary honors during just the second year of the new WCS Orchestra Program. Eight students from both Lakeview and Edgewood Middle Schools participated in All Region Middle School Orchestra at Penn High School.
At the District Solo and Ensemble Contest in February, two ensembles from Lakeview, two ensembles from Edgewood and one ensemble from the high school received gold ratings.
Eight string solos received gold ratings at the District Solo and Ensemble Contest: Ben Bolduc, cello; Lydia Harrison, cello; Analiese Helms, violin and viola; Jullianna Niebbia, violin; Keagan Rice, violin; Bailey Roulo, violin; Nathaniel Wise, cello.
At the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in March, Analiese Helms received a gold rating on her violin solo and a silver rating on her viola solo. Lydia Harrison, seventh grade, received a gold rating on her cello solo.
Analiese Helms became the first WCS student to compete in the All State Orchestra in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
On Saturday, March 22, the Edgewood Middle School Orchestra and the Lakeview Middle School Orchestra will each perform in the Goshen Middle School ISSMA Organizational Contest.
