UPDATE: Level Orange Travel Advisory Issued
(UPDATE: As of 7 p.m. Kosciusko County Emergency Management Director Ed Rock announced the county is now under a lowered, yellow travel advisory. Yellow is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.)
Kosciusko County is under a Watch Level travel advisory this morning. The level orange status means conditions are threatening to the safety of the public.
According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, during a “watch” local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.
The Watch Level will remain in effect until further notice. The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5 p.m. today.
