Syracuse Police Department
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Monday, March 30, 4:27 p.m. South Huntington Street and East Pickwick Drive. Drivers: Rick A. Flynn, 50, East King Arthur Trail, Cromwell; and John Kelsey, 61, E. Nokomis Drive, Syracuse. Flynn said his cell phone rang and he looked down to see who it was. When he looked back at the road he saw Kelsey’s vehicle stopped in traffic, but was not able to avoid a collision. Damages: up to $2,500
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, March 10, 5:54 p.m. East Market and South McKinley streets. Driver: Damon M. Johnston-Clouser, 40, West Raccoon Ln., Claypool. Johnston-Clouser was unable to speak due to health issues, and could not say why he struck a parked vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000
Monday, March 10, 5:36 p.m. North Detroit Street and Gilliam Drive. Drivers: Richard L. Walls, 47, South Woodland Hills Drive, Warsaw; Tara E. Still, 43, West Monoquet Road, Warsaw; and Alberto Aguilar, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Walls failed to see Still’s vehicle slowing and collided with the back of the vehicle. The impact resulted in Still’s vehicle being pushed into the back of Aguilar’s vehicle. Walls complained of minor back pain and was examined on the scene. Aguilar left the scene and drove home. When police located him, he was cited for having no valid driver’s license. Damages: up to $25,000
Monday, March 10, 3:12 p.m. 1 Tiger Lane. Drivers: Devin M. Lenfestey, 17, North 175 East, Warsaw; and Jacqueline S. Kersey, 18, South 200 West, Silver Lake. Lenfestey backed into Kersey’s vehicle as she was northbound through the parking lot. Damages: up to $2,500
Monday, March 10, 2:03 p.m. East Center Street and North Park Avenue. Driver: Kimberly M. Wynne, 43, Wildflower Ct., Warsaw. Wynne was westbound on Center Street and said she struck a pot hole that caused her vehicle to veer toward the curb. Her vehicle struck the curb, resulting in one tire breaking away from the vehicle and a second being flattened. Damages: up to $2,500
Monday, March 10, 12:06 p.m. East Market Street and Argonne Road. Drivers: Melissa K. Swing, 38, Buck Trail, Warsaw; and Alice P. Brown, 88, Avalon Court, Winona Lake. Swing was eastbound on Market Street and stopped at the stop sign at Argonne Road. She failed to see a northbound vehicle, driven by Brown, slowing to make a left turn onto Market Street and pulled forward, striking Brown’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
Winona Lake Police Department
Officers of the Winona Lake Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Monday, March 10, 3:12 p.m. Kings Highway and Publishers Drive. Drivers: Daniel A. Wallen, 66, Charles Drive, Winona Lake; and Rebecca S. Fitzpatrick, 56, East 800 South, Claypool. Wallen was parked at the Tree of Life bookstore and attempting to back out onto Kings Highway. A large van parked next to him partially blocked his view and he collided with Fitzpatrick’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
