Altrusa Welcomes New Members
Bev Faulkner and Marsha Carey were initiated into Altrusa International of Warsaw at the Feb. 20 evening meeting at Richard’s Restaurant.
Bev is retired from the Indiana State Department of Health. Marsha has MJ Carey Consulting and is a consultant with Kosciusko Cares, and a community coordinator for Tobacco Free Kosciusko County. Both ladies have the skills and experience that will make them great additions to the club.
Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making their local communities better through leadership, partnership and service. Annually, the organization serves over 1 million community service hours.
Altrusa International of Warsaw serves the community in many different ways. The club has started planning the annual Bingo event to benefit The Beaman Home, which will be held on Oct. 16. Altrusa members also prepare and serve one meal a month to the children at Baker Youth Club. In April the club will provide the meal for the Grace College Mentors for Kids program at Jefferson School, and will be serving at the KREMC Annual meeting.
The club meets the first Thursday of the month at noon at Courthouse Coffee East, and the third Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Richard’s Restaurant, both in Warsaw. The meetings are open to anyone who wishes to learn about the good things Altrusa does in the community.
More information about Altrusa International and the local Club may be found on their website at www.altrusa.org or by visiting Altrusa-Warsaw on Facebook.
