WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team celebrated Senior Night with a win Tuesday.
The pair of seniors for the Cougars made sure of that.
Senior Chris Silveus and Cody Kline led the way as the hosts topped Howe 48-32.
Silveus scored 21 points and dished out three assists for the Cougars. Kline scored 11 points, including draining a trio of treys, and also had seven rebounds.
The game was tied at 2-2 after the opening period before LCA took a 14-11 lead at halftime. The Cougars outscored Howe 34-21 in the second half to pull away to the win. LCA improves to 2-18 on the season, while Howe falls to 0-19.
Carter Twombly had six points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars. Connor Blum netted eight points for the winners.
LCA closes out regular-season play Friday night at South Bend Career Academy. Both LCA and Howe will play in the Class 1-A Hamilton Sectional next week.
