Fast Start Paces Vikings
BREMEN – The wait was worth it for the Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team.
The Vikings, due to a postponement Tuesday night, waited an extra day to play Bremen.
Valley used a quick start Wednesday night on the road to post a 63-42 win over the host Lions.
The Vikings bolted to an 18-6 lead after the opening period in dominating the contest.
Tanner Andrews fired in 20 points to pace Valley, which improved to 13-3 with its thirds straight win and ninth in the last 10 games.
Chainey Zolman had 13 points and Logan Britton and Robby Groom each scored nine for the Vikings. Ben Shriver and Alec Craig each had five points.
Bremen, which lost for the 10th straight time, drops to 2-14.
Valley won the junior varsity contest 43-33.
The Vikings host Triton Friday night and entertain Peru Saturday night. Valley will have a reception for coach Bill Patrick to honor him for coaching in his 1,000th career game following the game Saturday night. Valley then finishes its regular season at Wawasee Feb. 28.
Bremen plays at NorthWood Friday night.
