Allen Paces Wawasee Gymnasts
HUNTINGTON – The Wawasee gymnastics team came up a little short Thursday night versus a strong Huntington North team.
The host Vikings topped the Warriors 99.15-95.35 in prep competition.
Emily Allen led the way for coach Nika Prather’s Wawasee team. Allen earned first place in the beam and floor events with top scores of 9.0 and 9.05 respectively for the Warriors. Allen was second in the all-around competition with a score of 33.70.
Molly Smith placed second in the vault routine for Wawasee with a score of 8.6. She was fourth in the all-around with a score of 31.00.
Taylor Busse was third in the bars competition for the Warriors with a score of 7.55.
Wawasee, now 4-4 on the season, continues to juggle its lineup with the sectional quickly approaching. The Warriors will host the sectional on Saturday, March 8.
Carly Snider of Huntington North captured first in the all-around with a score of 34.47.
Wawasee won the junior varsity competition. Jadelyn Skelton placed first in the vault and Paige Wright won the floor exercise to lead the Warriors.
Wawasee hosts Plymouth Tuesday night.
