WCS Students Bounce Toward Better Learning
Sherri Snow’s kindergarten class is “bouncing” their way to better learning. Mrs. Snow has replaced her students’ chairs with stability balls. Stability balls are found to promote learning through movement and to enhance attention and concentration.
Mrs. Snow said the balls took some getting used to because students do not have to be sitting still to be paying attention. Mrs. Snow also uses the balls as a reward. If a student is particularly well-behaved, Mrs. Snow gives him or her thirty seconds of “free bounce time.” The students love it!
This learning opportunity was made possible through a generous Red Apple Grant given by the Warsaw Education Foundation. Mrs. Snow thanks them for “allowing out-of-the-box vision to become a reality.”
