UPDATE: North Webster Fire Total Loss
At 1:04 a.m Sunday, Feb. 9, North Webster Fire Department was called to respond to a house fire that was fully engulfed in flames located at 45 EMS B60 Lane. The address was dispatched as a North Webster location and is in the Barbee area near Sechrist Lake.
According to North Webster Fire Department Chief Jeremy Likens, the home is a total loss. Likens noted that fire fighters had several difficulties in dealing with the fire including frozen hydrants and narrow lanes to move fire trucks and tankers into. Likens indicated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The blaze was extinguished at approximately 7 a.m.
Likens stated that the two residents who resided in the home were able to exit without injury and have been assisted by the American Red Cross. The Red Cross also supplied a canteen for the fire fighters.
Pierceton Fire Department, Leesburg Fire Department, Winona Lake Fire Department, North Webster EMS, the American Red Cross and North Webster Police Department all responded to the Scene.
