Mayor: Be Careful, Courteous
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer is asking all residents and motorists to be extremely careful as city street employees continue to dig out from this week’s snowstorm.
Snow piles can obscure sightlines, especially at intersections. Roads are very slippery because of the extreme cold and dense packed snow. The city is experiencing a shortage of salt due to the high demand created by multiple winter storm events all across the country.
“Please slow down as you approach intersections to avoid sliding through,” said Thallemer. “Also, wait an extra few seconds to make sure the intersection is clear before proceeding.
“Our city employees are working overtime to clear the streets. Please be patient.”
Keeping parked vehicles off of the streets when plowing occurs will speed up the process. The mayor added, “Safety is critical when the weather takes over. Please slow down.”
