Wawasee Kiwanis Host Soup Supper
For the past few years, the Wawasee Kiwanis have hosted the Winter Carnival Snow Mobile races and a soup supper to precede it.
This year marks the fifth annual Soup Supper to be held at the Syracuse Community Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. Soups are made and donated to the supper to be judged by all who attend to find the best soup in all the lake area.
Each contestant is asked to prepare a soup of their choice. Contestants are requested to prepare 3-4 gallons of their favorite soup to bring to the community center by 3 p.m. the day of the event. The categories are businesses, restaurants, individuals and civic groups. This year the judges (community) will be voting for one soup in each of the categories with the one entry who gains the most votes overall named the overall winner.
Wawasee Kiwanis thanks participants in advance for helping the group enjoy fun and fellowship during the winter months and for helping support the many children based charities that the Kiwanis support, including Riley Hospital.
