Pebble Troyer
Pebble Troyer, 88, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 11:11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at her residence after a short illness.
She was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Van Lear, Ky., to Edward and Myrtie (Fraley) Brown. Pebble moved to Silver Lake, Ind., in 1955 and then to Nappanee a short time later.
She married Ora ‘Bud’ Troyer March 9, 1957, in Warsaw, Ind. He survives.
Mrs. Troyer was a homemaker and had worked many years at Vitreous Steel. She witnessed to many her faith and attended Nappanee Missionary Church. She had previously attended Living Gospel Church in Nappanee. Pebble enjoyed her family especially her grandkids. She was a hard nosed Cub fan! She also enjoyed flowers and keeping her yard neat and clean.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (Jerry) Ryman, Debra (Mike) Kitson, Sandra ‘Sam’ (Rick) Bainter, Tammy Heckaman, all of Nappanee; sons: Jerry (Susan) Honeycutt, Phillip (Vykky) Honeycutt, both of Nappanee; Steve (Amy) Troyer, Wakarusa, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Pauline (Harold) Metzger, Florida; and brothers: Earl (Zenal) Brown, Nappanee; and Bob (Nety) Brown, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Bussard; granddaughter, Hannah Troyer; sisters: Reva Aitken, Gladie Stapleton, Buford Stapleton; and brothers: Dick Brown and Elois Brown.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 10, also in the chapel. Pastor Justin Lamason will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
