County Gets Over Foot Of Snow
Most of Michiana has been pounded with heavy snow since early Sunday morning. Obviously, but how much has accumulated in this blizzard of 2014, or snowpocalypse, as some are calling it?
According to the National Weather Service, Warsaw had already received 13.5 inches by midnight on Sunday. At 1 a.m., North Webster received 14.3 inches of snow.
Snowfall tapered off early this morning. At 8:43 a.m. Milford Utilities Superintendent Randy Veach reported 16 inches at Milford Town Hall. So it seems Kosciusko County got between 1 and 1.5 feet of snow in the last 24 hours.
According to the National Weather Service, additional snowfall is not expected until Wednesday. However, NWS is reporting winds between 20 mph and 30 mph, and widespread snow blowing is to be expected.
Remember a winter storm warning is in effect until 4 p.m. this afternoon. Travel is treacherous, and everyone besides emergency workers are urged to stay off the roads.
