Charles T. Miller, 82, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 6:21 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, Ind.
He was born at North Manchester on June 15, 1931, to Jesse T. and Ruby I. (Fanning) Miller. On Oct. 12, 1951, he married Ruth G. Gearhart.
Charlie was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. He began working at the former Peabody Seating Co. and later became a salesman for Farm Bureau, State Farm and Prudential Life Insurance companies. He retired after 25 years at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. in Warsaw, Ind.
After retirement he worked for the The Paper of Wabash County. He loved his family and was an avid sports fan, particularly NASCAR and Jeff Gordon, Cincinnati Reds baseball and I.U. basketball. He was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester.
He is survived by his wife: Ruth Miller; two sons: Todd D. Miller and Chad A. (Robin) Miller, both of North Manchester; two daughters: Cathy S. Shepherd, North Manchester; and Angela K. Mannix, Angola, Ind.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister: Colleen Summers, North Manchester; and his only cousin: Jack Miller, North Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and his son-in-law: Jay Shepherd.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the funeral home. Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
