Morrison To Run For Congress
Dan Morrison, who almost won a contested primary in 2012 with a surprise grassroots campaign, recently announced he will be a candidate for Congress in Indiana’s 2nd District.
Morrison has lived and worked in Indiana for 35 years, becoming a full-time resident 27 years ago. He worked for Fortune 500 companies, the recreational vehicle industry and started his own small business. All of these experiences have prepared him to serve the people of the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana.
While working his way through Millikin University, Morrison earned his BA in political science along with a minor in business administration. During those college years he worked at Norfolk & Western Railroad on a section gang and at A.E. Staley Manufacturing where he was an active member of the AFL-CIO throwing 100 pound and 140 pound bags of dextrose and starch into box cars.
Morrison is married to Nancy, a retired school teacher, and their children Douglas, Jennifer, Lee and Blake all graduated from Marion High School, all attended Holy Cross before heading to Indiana University, Chicago Loyola and the University of Notre Dame.
The couple are also active in their church, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart.
