Syracuse Man Admits To Child Molesting
ChildĀ molestation charges have been filed against a Syracuse man who allegedly admitted to his crime.
Dannie Ray Woods, 56, of 7421 E. 1300 N., Syracuse, was interviewed by an officer of the Indiana State Police Department and subsequently arrested on charges that he molested or fondled a 13-year-old girl.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on July 31, officer Allen Lowrance spoke with the girl’s father, who had discovered from his daughter that she had been molested by her mother’s live-in boyfriend, Dannie Woods.
The girl, who is now living with her father in Illinois, reported that on one occasion Woods had picked her up from school and fondled her beneath her clothing. Woods allegedly fondled the girl over her clothes on several other occasions. The girl stated she was told to “keep quiet” about what Woods had done.
According to the court papers, Woods admitted that on one occasion he had fondled the girl under her clothing after she requested he do so while driving her home from school.
Woods was arrested on Friday, Dec. 13, for a Class C felony charge of child molesting and was given a $5,000 surety bond.
