Vikings Snap Losing Skid
DENVER – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team snapped its losing streak in a big way Friday night.
The Vikings’ offense was clicking in posting a 71-55 win at North Miami in Three Rivers Conference action.
Valley, which had lost four in a row to four very strong opponents, set a season-high point total in the TRC win.
Freshman Meredith Brouyette continued her fine season with a game-high 18 point for Valley, which improves to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the TRC.
The Vikings led 13-2 after the opening quarter and 33-14 at halftime en route to the easy victory.
Valley had lost to Noblesville in the title game of its own tourney and then on the road at Plymouth, Wabash and Triton before Friday night’s win.
Junior Caylie Teel had 12 points in the win. Senior Cara Hoffman scored nine points and freshman center Anne Secrest had six points and 11 rebounds.
North Miami drops to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the TRC.
Valley finishes its tough five-game road portion of the schedule at Winamac Thursday night. The Vikings then host Whitko in a TRC clash Saturday night in Akron. North Miami plays at Rochester next Saturday.
