WCHS Sounds Of The Season Tommorrow
The Warsaw Community High School instrumental music department will present “The Sounds of the Season” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the WCHS Performing Arts Center Auditorium.
The concert will feature the WCHS Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. The WCHS Jazz Band, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Low Brass Ensemble, and the state-championship Percussion Ensemble will also perform. All ensembles are under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
The program will also include such holiday classics as, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “A Cartoon Christmas,” “Charlie Brown Christmas,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” “Happy Xmas (War is Over),” and many others.
There will be no charge for the concert, but free will donations for The Community Closet will be accepted in the lobby. The Community Closet distributes hygiene products, cleaning products and other household items to local families in need. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring items such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes (primarily children’s sizes) and bar soap. Other items, such as laundry detergent, dish soap, household cleaning supplies, diapers, feminine products and toilet paper are also needed. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Donors who write checks may make them out to the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw (with “Community Closet” in the memo line). The Closet distributes these items from the First United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays.
