Milford Extends Life Of TIF District
The Milford Redevelopment Commission held a public hearing for a resolution which would provide an extension of the life of Milford Economic Redevelopment Area I.
With the extension, the tax increment finance district would exist for 30 years — the maximum time allowed by the state — rather than the original 20 years. Expiration would occur Feb. 12, 2026.
After no members of the public chose to speak, the commission closed the public hearing and then voted to adopt the resolution.
In new business the redevelopment commission approved the purchase of a spare pump and motor for the Brock lift station. The spare parts are estimated at $2,979 and would be compatible with Milford’s other lift stations as well.
Finally, commission members voted to pay a $340 bill to Rockhill Pinnick LLP for legal services that included research into a legal description for TIF district one.
Prior to the vote, it was noted the legal description might require additional work with some confusion being present in regards to the original legal document from 1996, which went parcel to parcel. Since 1996 some of the parcels have been combined.
Next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13.
