Syracuse Public Library Announcements
Food For Fines
The Syracuse Library is collecting donations of food and household non-perishable items for distribution among individuals and families through the Syracuse Food Pantry. The value of the food donations can be applied to overdue fines that are owed the Syracuse Library.
This annual event will end Friday, Dec. 20, when the food pantry closes for the end of the year. The library has a list of the items the pantry requests. This offer does not apply to lost or damaged items.
Tuesday YA New-book Club
Teens meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, to play a board game while snacking and talking about favorite books and movies. Young people between sixth and 12th grade are welcome to come to the library meeting room for an hour of relaxation.
Book Buddies Are Back
The Syracuse Public Library is offering Book Buddies at 1 p.m. the next two Thursdays. Parents and children, whose ages are from 18 months to five years, are invited to experience the fun of learning. Families receive free books and learning materials at each session. The hour goes quickly for the children that play educational games, and for the adults that pick up some tips for activities at home.
Tax Time Approaches
Get the jump on next year’s taxes with the 2013-2014 Edition of the Indiana Taxation Handbook. The information in this book is of interest to businesses that need to know the rules and regulations for the coming year. Each year the library purchases the latest resources of tax law information. Peruse the new books section by the front desk as the current tax information becomes available.
