Thanksgiving Feast
Little pilgrims will gather for a Thanksgiving Feast next week as Preschool Story Time concludes its fall session next Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 11:30 a.m.
Preschoolers who have been attending Story Time for the last eight weeks are invited to sign up to bring a finger food to the North Webster Public Library on that day and enjoy a time of feasting and sharing. There will be no 10:30 a.m. session. A sign-up sheet is located at the Youth Services Desk.
The Story Time Thanksgiving Feast has been a NWPL tradition for many years evoking fond memories for those who have participated down through the years. Preschool Story Time will resume in February.
Family Movie Time
School-age kids can celebrate their Thanksgiving break from school with a free movie matinee at the NWPL’s Family Movie Time at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29. There will be two showings that day of an animated Disney movie about two young promising monsters who are university students majoring in “Scare” and competing to be the most fearsome in their class. The 110-minute movie is rated G, so the whole family can attend. Bring your favorite beverages and help yourselves to the free popcorn.
Voyager Book Club
Laughter will be part of the Voyager Book Club discussion at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, as the group meets to share humorous books they’ve read. In this adult book club, participants choose whatever book they want to read within an assigned genre and then share what they’ve read with one another.
Next month, the assignment is to listen to an audio book of their choice.
Recipe Round-Up
NWPL’s resident foodies will be sharing baked goods and dishes at Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26. Bake something, bring it and the recipe to the library and enjoy sampling a variety of culinary creations. It’s always a good time of food and friends. The library provides the table service and free coffee and water.
Lose It @ The Library
The Lose It @ The Library weight loss support group will be tackling the holidays head on at their weekly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, with a program entitled “The Holidays – You Gotta Love ‘Em! Let’s Quit Fighting With Food.”
Led by registered nurse Mary Erb, participants will learn strategies for getting through the holidays without packing on the pounds.
