Marion L. ‘Tim’ Darr
Marion L. ‘Tim’ Darr, 95, of Goshen, Ind., passed away late Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
He was born March 28, 1918, in Goshen to Merle and Hazel (Good) Darr. On April 10, 1943, he married Elaine L. Coy in Washington, D.C. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Darr was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army 3rd Armored Division Spearhead Unit in World War II in the European Theatre, 1941-1945. He worked as a shipping foreman at Syracuse Rubber Products, retiring in 1983. He was an avid golfer and member of the Wawasee Golf Club, and the Syracuse American Legion Post #223, where he held many offices locally and at the state level.
He is survived by two daughters: Carla Darr, Elkhart, Ind.; Diane Darr, South Bend, Ind.; and a sister: Phyllis (K.W.) Kurtz, Millersburg, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister: Shirley Schrock; and a brother: Galen Darr.
Visitation will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, funeral service will be held. Greencroft Chaplain Vanette Kashmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
