Grace Ladies Aim For Spot In Nationals
WINONA LAKE – The Grace College women’s soccer team will hope to clinch its third-straight trip to NCCAA Nationals on Saturday when the Lady Lancers host Cedarville at Miller Field.
Saturday’s match, which starts at 1 p.m., will determine the Midwest Region’s representative at the 2013 NCCAA National Championships in Kissimmee, Fla. The Lady Lancers finished third in last season’s national tournament – the best showing in program history. Grace has advanced to NCCAA Nationals in three of the past four seasons under head coach Michael Voss.
Second-seeded Cedarville knocked off No. 3 Oakland City 4-0 on Wednesday to advance to the title match on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are in the midst of a school-record season, earning a program-best 15 wins so far.
The teams met in the 2011 regional championship game at Miller Field when Grace won 2-0 thanks to goals from Kaitlan Wiles and Kelsey Christner.
