KREMC Donated $5,000 To CCS
For the eighth consecutive year, Kosciusko REMC donated to the Winter Heating Assistance Program at Combined Community Services, Warsaw.
KREMC President and CEO Bruce Goslee, presented a check for $5,000 to CCS Executive Director Steve Possell noting, “We truly believe in partnering with CCS through this program. We know there is a need for our members and that these funds will be used to help as many as possible when they need it the most.”
Over the past few years the fund has assisted over 300 members. As noted on the CCS website, “Financial assistance is offered to those in greatest immediate crisis. In most situations, a disconnect notice or warning is required before assistance can be provided. Guidelines for financial assistance are up to 205 percent of Poverty Guidelines or Hardship Determination, which covers a vast array of crisis situations, from loss of job to an automobile accident that renders people unable to make their usual payments.”
Goslee added, “This program is only one of the many ways KREMC gives back to the community. As a company, we hold an annual weatherization workshop that gives members tips and suggestions on how to become more energy efficient. Also, employees are currently donating food to a local organization that provides families a Thanksgiving meal, and starting in December employees will start collecting for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.”
